AGS® - for graffiti prevention
Protection of surfaces from new graffiti is the most efficient way of preventing the phenomenon. The possibility of quick, inexpensive and efficient removing of graffiti guaranteed by the AGS® products and also the difficulty of making graffiti on protected surface (it requires three times more paint and time), discourages its authors from painting of the surface again. Consistency of action is an important element of the effect; immediate removing of even smallest writing gives its authors a signal that the place is not worth their effort, time and costly sprays and unnecessary risk.
The AGS® products for graffiti prevention use microwax dispersion. Due to their natural composition they can be used on almost any surface without causing unwanted reaction on the surface. They are produced in three transparent variations: lustreless, half-lustreless, and lustre, which in most cases are invisible on the surface. They are also available in tinted version according to Ral colour range standards, which also constitutes a paint coating.

It is put on with brush, roll or sprayed. Graffiti is washed of with hot water under pressure (hot water pressure washing) or with the help of specific product. Spray paint or water-resistant markers bond with protective surface without getting into the structure of protected material. When using hot water under pressure (90°C), the protection is softened and water pressure peels it off the surface together with graffiti. After removing graffiti the protective layer should be renewed in the cleaned place. Washable properties of the protection i.e. possibility of removing it, makes the AGS® products adequate for use on historic building in accordance with the basic conservation rule concerning the reversibility of each process. These properties do not mean that the coating is delicate and could for instance be damaged and then covered with graffiti. The products create a layer, resistant to unfavorable weather and temperature conditions (frost and heat) as well as mechanical damage. In order to remove the layer you need to use a special AGS® product and hot water under pressure.
The necessity of renewing the protection in cleaned place is often pointed out by competition as 'flaw' is however an asset as in longer perspective, when the protected building requires painting etc. or the protective layer stops working, it will be necessary to remove it. The AGS® products can be removed in a simple and inexpensive way, whereas permanent protective layers, permanently bonded with the surface have to be removed together with the material they are on which for obvious reasons is a costly and troublesome process our competition forgets to mention.

Undoubtedly, the long, defined and guaranteed 7-year period of durability is their asset, and in practice amounts to over ten years. It means that in that period properties of the products do not change. The products create conservation layer retain full vapor permeability (breathing) of coated materials, constituting at the same time typical hydrophobization (restricted access of dampness), which makes it possible to use them for hydrophobic protection on surfaces such as northern or western walls of buildings, prone to damping, at the same time restricting growth of microorganisms (algae and moss).
They fulfill fire protection functions (they are non flammable), can be used inside, in subway tunnels etc. UV filters used fix and prolong the durability of original color.
Besides the possibility effective removing of graffiti the products allow washing off any traffic and weather staining which helps keep the building clean, and postpones the time of costly renovation.
These assets influence significant operating savings through longer duration of surface.

All the AGS products have been approved; they have positive opinions, meet strict environmental protection requirements in accordance with OECD 302B in the HEDESELLSKAPET test.
What does it involve and how to remove graffiti from protected surface?
Surfaces are protected by applying appropriate amount of product on them. This does not involve 1 or more layers but appropriate amount on each 1 m2 of surface, depending on type of surface material. Porous, absorptive surfaces such as sandstone require more product than smooth non-absorptive surfaces such as metal plates. Protected surface has to be clean, preferably dry, can be damp but not wet.
The product has to be put on carefully in order to cover all pores in the material - failing to do this may result in undesirable effect when removing graffiti. Additional layers should be put on when all other are dry. A surface is fully protected when last layers dry.
Graffiti is best removed with hot water pressure washer. Before proper removing it is best to warm the surface for a while with 90°C water sprayed from a distance, then when protected area becomes soft move washer pistol closer to surface and remove graffiti adjusting water pressure to surface resistance. After removing graffiti and drying of surface renew protective layer needs to be renewed in the cleaned spot.
